Smooth Sailing Flopsey

This is my card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC105).  Karen Giron is the brains behind the Sweet Sunday Sketch and I'm loving these sketches - it makes making a card so easy!

I used Smooth Sailing Flopsey from MFT and the, oh so perfect, Catch a Wave Die-namics also from MFT which I cut from felt - another first for me.....felt on a card!  The patterned paper is October Afternoon Seaside.  A trio of star eyelets and that was it.

I just love the wood look of the boat and how I wrote "JennyWren" on it.  This card is for my friend who has a boat called the "JennyWren" so I'm super excited to give this to her.  The entire image is paper pieced - I finally get the rules of paper piecing for keeping an image in proper perspective.  Thanks for your patience Karen :)

Perk Me Up Peeps

This is my card for yesterday's Bellariffic Friday.  It's a sketch from Ebru.  I am loving these new little Peeps and you know I love my Starbucks so this image is perfect for me.

I used some scraps of patterned paper I found in Karen's scrap pile and did a lot of paper piecing.  I'm really liking the look of the paper piecing even though it takes a bit longer to cut out all the layers, especially when it's waaaaaay past my bedtime :).  I added some Crystal Stickles in the heart cause a gal's got to have her glitter and I learned how to paper pierce using the nestie!

My First Post!

Oh the pressure - my first post!  I have been thrown in the deep end here.  My friends have been encouraging me to start a blog and I resisted for ages and then all of a sudden, before I knew what happened -  I had a blog! Thanks Karen and Dana I think :)

So be gentle - it's my first blog post, my first blog card, my first proper copic lesson and my first attempt at sewing.  Nothing like going for it :)

This is my card for the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch #7 (MFTWSC7).  I must start by saying I flipped this sketch.  I used the MFT Ladybug, the patterned paper is October Afternoon Fly a Kite (I think), some chocolate chip ribbon, chocolate candy dots and a touch of glitter on her wings. Don't you just love the paper pieced polka dotted polka dots?!?

Well that's it for my first post and yes, I do realize that two of my copics are upside down :)
