Bellariffic Friday - Here comes Spring

Happy Friday!  Today's Bellariffic Friday theme was "Spring or Easter".  I haven't inked up Paula's Framed Florals (a beautiful set of four images drawn by our own Paulabella) in ages and chose her daffodils to cover the Spring or Easter theme :)

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.

I kept the card quite simple because the image is so beautiful on its own.  I didn't want to use busy pattern paper so stuck with just white and Daffodil Delight cardstock - how perfect is that name?  The square is embossed with the swiss dots embossing folder and I went around all the edges with my lace scallop border punch.  Four bonbons in each corner and a tiny yellow bow finished it off nicely.

Have a great weekend - we are puppy sitting this weekend!

Sympathy card

Sympathy cards are always hard to make but I'm happy with the way this one turned out.  I saw this beautiful card that Danielle Lounds made and just loved it.

The sentiment is an old one from Cornish Heritage Farms and stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink.  The paper is Girls Paperie, Vintage Whimsy with some SU Certainly Celery.  I used the Oval Open Scallop Doily and Leafy Flourish die-namic with the sentiment stamped and layered using my oval nesties.  The beautiful rose is made with Bubblegum pink felt and the Rolled Rose die-namic.  It's so easy to make these flowers, I must make them more often!  Some cream seam binding tied into a bow finished it off.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 6 - Pink Princess

What a glorious week that was - Summer arrived before Spring!  Today's Bellariffic Friday was a sketch from EbruBella.  I love her sketches - and I altered this one ever-so-slightly.

I stamped the other image from Fairy Princesses in Memento Tuxedo black ink (are they sisters? cousins? BFFs? don't know, but I love them both!) and coloured her with copics, adding some extra shading with pencil crayons and OMS.

The pattern paper is from an old TE kit and the pink ribbon is from SU.  As I said, I "tweaked" the sketch a bit - the middle panel is much smaller and I left off the sentiment as I'm not sure who is getting this yet and for what occasion!  I used one of the Big Scallop Rectangles nesties for a fun background and of course, some glitter around her and on her tutu.  Have a great weekend!

Magical Holiday

I'm trying to keep on track with my Christmas cards this year and manged to make two of these with left over scrap paper!

The paper is BoBunny 'Tis the Season Stripe" and I layered it on some SU Chocolate Chip.  The felt snowflakes are from SU - I've had them for years and just found them again!  A bit of ribbon and some sparkly brads finish it off.  The sentiment is from MFT Winter Cuties VIP package and I love that they all fit perfectly in the First Place Award Ribbon die-namic.  These cards were super fast to make - might just make a few more!

Bellariffic Friday - Going Green

It's Friday - and that means Bellariffic Friday!!  Today's theme was to use green on your card or use a St. Patrick's Day image and being as I don't have any St. Patrick's day images, green it was!  I knew exactly the image I wanted to use too - one I haven't inked up in years - shocking, I know!

You can't get more green than the adorable Turtle Tots Teddy Bear.  I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics, adding some extra shading with pencil crayons and gamsol.

The pattern paper is Echo Park Springtime Seasonal Stripe - perfect as it sure felt like spring this past week!  I kept the layout pretty simple with just a bit of grosgrain ribbon and a couple of prima flowers.  I wanted to try my hand at the pretty shading around the images and the grass that so many of the Bellababes have perfected.  Paula-bella has a great tutorial on grass here and shading around the image here.  I think I need a bit more practice and probably should have used the pencil crayons for the grass, not copics!  Oh well, I will persevere.  Have a great weekend!

Guest Stamper - Dr. Loz

I had my friend Loz over on the weekend for a bit of stamping fun and I just had to show off the card that she made!  Remember this card I made Loz for her birthday?  Well, it turns out as well as being an amazing surgeon, she is quite the crafty gal too and guess what?  She found my missing PI Girl Doctor stamp - yay!

Loz stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  I think she did a great job for her first time shading with copics!  She added tiny rhinestone buttons with perfect surgical precision - LOL.  Loz made this for her Mum for Mothering Sunday - which in England is celebrated on March 18.

Sweet Sunday Skiing - SSSC154

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC154). I really liked the sketch - love that banner down the middle - so many possibilities!

I stamped the sweet little PI Ski Girl in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

I had to give her a pretty little ski suit - so paper pieced it with papers from MME 12 Days of Christmas.  The other cardstock is SU Real Red and Green Galore.  I covered the icicle die with stickles and for the banner down the middle I used more of yesterday's recycled red ribbon!  I cut out the little mittens for her to hold and added some glitter on her hat and four little dots in each corner.

Cool Yule - MFTWSC62

I had some time yesterday to stamp and used this week's MFTWSC62 as my layout and can add another card to my box for a stress-free December!

I stamped the little penguin from Cool Yule in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him with copics.

The paper is Echo Park Season's Greetings with some SU Real Red.  The blue and red is one of my fav Christmas colour combos!  I paper pieced his scarf so it came out of the image a little bit and added some glitter to his hat.  The wide red ribbon is recycled from a Christmas present I received!  The Let it Snowflake die was perfect for the other two panels on the layout and I finished them off with a red bonbon in the middle.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 5 - Anastasia

Finally Friday - and sketch #5 from Ebrubella!  This time I used Anastasia and I just love her big glasses and even bigger hair!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

The pattern paper is BasicGrey Sweet Threads with SU Pixie Pink.  I used my pink atyou Spica pen for some sparkle on her hair bow, her dress and her glasses.  Aren't those glasses fun?  I added a very generous layer of crystal effects to make them shine - I just love them - they remind me of my first pair of glasses in Grade 1.  Mine were multicoloured though!  I cut around Anastasia and popped her up on a piece of cardstock that I ran through my BigShot with the Perfect Polkdadots embossing folder.  I finished it off with a flower, a tiny button and an even tinier thread bow where the sentiment was in the sketch - that's the beauty of a sketch - you can tweak things!

Casual Jeans

Karen made this fun card last year.  Her card was so cute that I just CASEd it!

The pattern paper is from my scraps pile with some SU Real Red and Old Olive.  I used the Leafy Flourish and Simply Scallops die-namics and a trio of prima flowers with a bonbon in the middle.  I sewed around the pocket (cut from an actual pair of jeans!) and added a twill bow.  I just realized there isn't ANY stamping on this - that's a first!

Bellariffic Friday - Polka Dots

It's time for another Bellariffic Friday card!  This week's theme was polka dots and I decided to use the Uptown Girls, Felicity and Blair because Felicity has a dotted dress...or is that Blair in the dotted dress?  I'm going with Felicity!

I stamped the girls in Memento Tuxedo black ink, coloured them with copics and then added some extra shading with OMS and pencil crayons.

The cardstock is SU Certainly Celery and Marina Mist and the pattern paper is MME Dwell.  These gals are so classy I kept the rest of the card pretty simple - a scallop border, a bit of ribbon and a flower with a Bella bonbon in the middle.  I added several coats of clear glaze pen to the wine glasses and the icing on the chocolate cupcakes.  The dots on Felicity's dress needed a little sparkle so I used my pink Atyou Spica pen and some regular glitter on Blair's skirt and jacket trim.

Here's hoping there is either wine or chocolate (or both!) in your weekend!
