Karen's CAS

My friend Karen made a beautiful CAS card recently.  Click here to see her card in all it's glory.  I loved it so much I decided to make one myself, changing up the colours, papers and die-namic.

I love the simplicity of this card and that it could be for sympathy, just because, birthday, thinking of you...anything really.

Thanks Karen!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 4 - Thanks Christal

After missing last week’s Bellariffic Friday, I was happy to be able to play along this week.  It’s another sketch (which I love) and I made this for my co-worker Christal.

This past week we celebrated Christal’s 5th “work anniversary”.  Christal loves purple, loves the Uptown Girls, loves sparkle and the sketch this week made it pretty easy to pull this card together for her.  I added some crystal (not Christal - LOL) effects on her drink and a bit of glitter for her sparkling personality and used lots of bright fun colours.

I kept the inside pretty basic with lots of room to write how much we appreciate her!

Happy 5th Anniversary Christal – here’s to 5 more!

Thanks Kunaal - MFTWSC112

Well, another rotation at work is finished and another resident is on his way.  This cute PI Doctor has to be my most used stamp and I really like making a personalized card for each doctor that works with us.  The sketch is today's MFTWSC112 and I rotated it once.

Kunaal has been fascinated by the cards I make.  In fact, when he first started with us, he asked how I made them.  When I said "with rubber stamps", he replied "like Stampin' Up?" and he instantly earned brownie points from me!  Hopefully he likes his card and my "suturing" on it, although it's a bit wonky on one side.

I personalized his clipboard - I think he'll get a chuckle of out that.  Best of luck Kunaal - you've been a delight to work with.

Sweet Sunday Splash - SSSC178

I've been MIA but I have a good excuse - I've been here with my BFF!

Yes, away for a much needed holiday.  I had the best time and we even got stuck in Jamaica for an extra day and half because of the massive snowstorm that blew through last week!  I would have preferred to be stuck at our resort, and not the airport, but there are worse places to be stuck than Jamaica.

I liked the sketch for this week's SSSC178  - it was simple and I knew exactly the image I wanted to use.  One to remind me of where I was two Sundays ago...splashing in the sea with just the slightest hint of a tan.  I was a bit scared of that hot Jamaican sun!

Oh the laughs we had, the food we ate, the memories we made!  If I close my eyes I can still see and hear the waves washing in...doesn't get any better than that!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 3 - Pretty Payton

This week's Bellariffic Friday is Sketch #3.  I had a totally different image in mind but recently came across a fantastic blog "Kit and Clowder" and everything changed!  Alyce has made some excellent videos on colouring with copics and I was itching to have a go at "hair and skin" after watching her videos.

Payton has the most perfect hair to practice on and I have to say, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.  If only I could pull off highlights like that! :)

I used just a simple strip of paper and a chevron on the inside....gasp....I know, no Fishtail Flags :)

I'm amazed I used only four copics on her hair - I just love all the highlights.

I highly recommend checking out Alyce's blog and her videos!

Gracie's twin - Lacey

Last Wednesday I made Gracie.  I had so much fun with her that I gave her a twin sister...meet Lacey!

Seeing as Gracie and Lacey are twins, they are dressed the same but the cards are slightly different.  Lacey has a doily behind her (seems fitting for her name too, don't you think?) and a little button on her sentiment flag.

Gracie and Lacey - double the fun!

Bellariffic Friday - You Are So Sweet

Happy Friday!  When Emily first came out with Ramona I fell head over heels in love - Ramona is SO sweet - she was the perfect image for this week's Bellariffic Friday challenge aptly called "You Are So Sweet"!

I used SSSC176 for the layout and some fun papers from an old TE KI kit.  I cut out the little heart on her fishing line out separately and popped it up with a layer of stickles on top.  To give it some softness I sponged around the circle with VersaMagic Wheat ink and added a few dots of glitter here and there.  The little hearts on her dress have a layer of red Atyou Spica pen.  I might have "interpreted" Ramona a little bit differently than some of the other cards I've seen :-).  Is that a hoodie she's wearing?  A hoodie that I changed into a little hat and red sweater?!  Hmm, I'm going with the hat and sweater :)

The inside is my "go to" layout.  I just love the fishtail flags and a partial image on the inside!

This could be a valentine card but I'm going to keep with the challenge and use it as a You Are So Sweet card!
