Super Star Shirley - MFTWSC121

My Auntie Shirley did her first parachute jump at age 79!!  She's always telling her grandchildren, "You're never too old to do silly things" and she wanted to do something "exciting" before she turned 80.  Along with the excitement of the jump she raised £2,553.38 (and that's pounds, not dollars!) for a charity that gives residential holidays to disadvantaged children in England.  I used this week's MFTWSC121 but flipped it upside down.

The PI Plane Amazing image was perfect as that's exactly what my Auntie Shirley looked like! She wore a blue/yellow jumpsuit and goggles but I gave her the wings for being so brave!  I also added a generous layer of crystal effects to her goggles.

I wish I could have been there in person to cheer her on but these photos made me smile and my cousins kept me up to date with a play by play :)

And here she is with her jumping partner having just landed!

I'm SO proud of my Super Star Auntie!!

Bling it up - Bellariffic Friday

Today's Bellariffic Friday theme is "Bling it up" and I knew immediately I'd be making a Christmas card (I'm sadly VERY behind this year).  Nothing says bling like a sparkly snowflake!

I love Ramona and I love Christmas and I love snowflakes so you can imagine, I'm pretty pleased with my card :)  I used a bit more of one of my fav Christmas papers - I only have 1/2 sheet left.  What will I do when I run out?!  Lots of bling around the image, on her coat and of course that perfect snowflake.  I used liquid applique on her hood and tassel puffed up with some glitter.

I kept the inside pretty simple with just the image re-stamped.

Here are the copics I used.   I'm hoping this card will push me back on the Christmas card-making wagon!

Party - MFTWSC120

This week's MFTWSC120 was a great sketch but I rotated it once.  I also added one extra flag as "PART" would have seemed odd - LOL!

I love paper piecing these little mice.  A layer of crystal effects on the cake icing makes it shine and some glitter on the candle makes it sparkle.

This card had to stay pretty flat for mailing purposes.  I would have loved to pop up those flags but Canada Post charges extra for dimension :)

Here are the copics I used.

Have a great weekend.

Bellariffic Friday - Shoe-a-holic

Today's Bellariffic Friday is Sketch 8 and I made this for one of the doctors at work.  It's her birthday and she loves her shoes...well, who doesn't love shoes?!

I labelled all her shoe boxes with, hopefully, some of her favourite shoe stores.  For the embellishment, a couple of prima flowers with a button bow seemed to fit and I resisted using my "go to" Fishtail Flags on the inside and went with an open scallop border.

Here are the copics I used.

Girl Talk - MFTWSC119

My card for this week's MFTWSC119 was a little tricky for me.  I didn't have the large scallop die-namic from the Blueprints 1or the Party Banner die-namic but a sketch is for personal interpretation, so I did just that :)

Even though I love my IPhone, I'm getting the itch for an IPad now after spending a week using my Mums!  I used the Turquoise Atyou Spica pen on her hairband and added two tiny rhinestones for the camera lens.

I used the larger of the Chevron Stripes die-namic on the inside and stamped the sentiment in MFT Black Licorice ink.  It stamps so crisp and clean - I LOVE this ink!!

Sweet Sunday Spa - SSSC181

It's been a while since I've played along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I love her sketches and for this one, SSSC181, I rotated it once to work with my image.

I really wanted the polish bottle to shine so added a layer of crystal effects.

Here are the copics I used.

Back for Bellariffic Friday

Two weeks with no stamping - but I'm back now.  I injured my back a couple of weeks ago which prevented me from sitting and stamping.  Then I flew to pack up my Mum and bring her home from warm, sunny Florida to cold, wintry Ontario!  Seriously, what's up with this weather?  It's April for goodness sake!  Hopefully my card today will bring on the warmer weather and April flowers.  This week's theme for Bellariffic Friday was Sketch 7 and we had a choice of making it a square or circle card.  I went with the square card because it's easier to stand up :)

I kept the inside very simple with just some co-ordinating paper.

I used a lot of copics but that's because there's a lot of flowers :)

Have a great weekend.
