Make a Splash - SSSC189

This was a fun layout for Karen's SSSC189!  It's been perfect summer weather this week so I inked up this cute little Sprinkler Girl from MFT.

I paper pieced her little swimsuit and tried my hand at drawing some grass in.

Here are the copics I used.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 15

I couldn't play along last week with the "Christmas in July" challenge, so decided to make this week's Bellariffic Friday sketch a Christmas card.  I am way behind compared to last year with my cards!  I used sweet little Ramona and her penguin friend.

I was a little worried about all those banners along the bottom but am actually quite pleased with how it turned out.

I kept the inside blank as I'm not sure who this will go to and I like to make the sentiments "match" the recipient :)

Here are the copics I used.

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black ink, copics
Paper:  Crate Paper Snow Day, SU Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant

Happy Birthday Christal - MFTWSC134

I loved this week's MFTWSC134 sketch the minute I saw it, but then struggled with that trio of flowers.  I remembered this card that Karen made and I loved her rose on it so copied that :)

This is for my co-worker, Christal.  It's so much fun to make cards for her.  She's come such a long way with her stamping lingo - when I give her a card now she inspects it closely and uses words like "copics, paper piecing and dies" - words she didn't even know about a few years ago - LOL.

I matched the inside to the sketch and personalized my sentiment using several words from different PI sets.

Here are the copics I used.

Monster Bash - SSSC188

This is one of those cards that totally didn't turn out how I thought it would...but I like it!  I had another go using Karen's SSSC188 sketch and this time, stayed pretty true to the sketch.

The image is a cute monster set from October Afternoon.  There are four monsters in it but only this one fit the sketch....'cause you know monsters are BIG :)

The sentiment was one long image but I masked it and inked it to fit in the circle.

Lots of bright colours and some red sparkle make this a fun card.

Puppy Love - MFTWSC132

My friend just got her new puppy!  His name is Harley and I just had to make him a special card.

I used this week's MFTWSC132 for the sketch and the oh so perfect PI Puppy Girl for the image and sentiments. The papers are the last bits from a retired TE Project Pantry kit and that cute little bone brad was perfect.

I kept the inside simple - just part of the image and the sentiment.

Here are the copics I used.

Here's a quick picture of handsome Harley!

Bellariffic Friday - Here comes the bride....

It's wedding season!  I inked up Sposabella for this week's Bellariffic Friday sketch - LOVE this week's sketch!

I kept it soft and pretty with just a cream/pink colour combo and lots of glitter.  I sprayed the whole card with glimmer mist and it's SO pretty but hard to see in the photo.

More of my current fav embellishments...doilies and flower trim....love them!  The doily was white and I wanted it softer so I dug out my brayer and rolled over it with some Crumb Cake ink which made it match the ribbon and paper.

Here are the copics I used:

Have a great weekend.

Sink or Swim - SSSC188

The big news here in Toronto on Monday evening was the CRAZY storm that dumped a record-breaking amount of rain!  The pictures and stories have to be seen to be believed, especially the stranded GO train - fortunately not the train I was on!
Click here for some crazy photos of the storm - I've never seen anything like it.  My local Starbucks, that I visit every morning before work, was flooded and severely damaged.  I felt so bad for them - they looked so sad the morning after trying to clean up and explain to all their customers they were closed - that I had to make them a card.  I love my Starbucks and the staff at this particular location are outstanding!

I made a cute little scene and if you look closely you'll see the little fellow is reaching for his Starbucks cup floating by.  I drew the Starbucks cup by hand as I don't have a stamp that tiny even though it's a grande True North - their new flavour :)

I sponged some clouds using the Wonky Scallop die-namic and made the waves with the Catch a Wave die-namic.  Then I added a banner with the fun sentiment.

I used the SSSC188 for my layout - with a few changes :)  These are the copics I used.

I do hope they're open for business tomorrow - I can't wait to give it to them!

Happy Mail - MFTWSC131

Yesterday I had some time to stamp and I played along with this week's MFTWSC131.

I was originally going to keep it pretty flat for mailing but the flower was calling for a button in the middle and I couldn't resist.  Canada Post will be happy when they see me coming with this one! I shined her shoes with several coats of clear glaze pen, added two tiny rhinestones as buttons and applied some stickles to the heart on the mailbox for some sparkle.

I seem to have used a lot of copics for such a simple image - LOL.

The name of the image, "Happy Mail", is perfect and I do hope this brings a smile to the face of that special someone who gets this "Happy Mail" :)

Bellariffic Friday - Button it up

A nice short work week and it's time for Bellariffic Friday again.  This week the challenge was to use buttons.  I love buttons but don't use them as much as I'd like simply because Canada Post charges so much more if your cards are bulky = embellished :)

Marybella recently made a card (click here to see her card) and I loved the sketch so saved it and recreated a similar version for my card this week.

I inked up one of the pixies from The Pixies Set A.  Not sure which little pixie this is - is it Parker, Persephone, Portia or Priscilla?  I'm going with Portia.

She's so tiny that the card came together super quick so I made two more to add to my card stash!

Here are the copics I used.

Have a nice weekend.
