Happy Birthday Riley

I played along with this week's SSS225 and made a card for Riley who is turning 5!

I stamped parts of the dinosaur three times onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.  I only used two copics, YR12 and YR14.  I thought it would be fun to put some googly eyes on the dinosaur.

How crazy are those eyes?!

Wishing Riley a very happy 5th birthday!

Bellariffic Friday - Molly takes a Detour

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had a cute inspiration photo work with.  I took the colours and the fact that the girl in the photo was "travelling" over Paris.

I stamped Molly makes a Detour onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

I made up a few luggage tags for Molly with places she's been.

And here's where Molly took a detour - literally!  After I had finished colouring her and glued everything down I decided to add some crystal effects to her sunglasses for a bit of shine.  A big blob of crystal effects fell right in the middle of her forehead!  I had to move quickly to wipe it off and then left her to dry overnight.  Note to self....do not hold the crystal effects bottle over the image when starting - LOL.

On the inside I used a scallop die to mimic the scallop on the front and added the sentiment that comes with Molly.  I love when a sentiment is included with the image.

Because of Molly's "accident", I was so distracted I forgot to take a photo of the copics I used - sorry.

We hope you'll play along with next week's challenge.  It's a sketch and you know I love a sketch!

Have a great weekend and to my fellow Canadians - hope you enjoy your long weekend.

Another retirement

I was asked to make another retirement card for a doctor at work.  It's really easy as I have the perfect image in World's Best Doctor!  The only slight issue is that the card needed to be BIG for lots of people to write in, so I just folded a regular piece of cardstock in half.

I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  The doctor is popped up for dimension onto a pierced circle die that I embossed.  I cut out three stars and covered them with crystal effects for some super duper shine.  When they were completely dry I popped them up too.

I finished off the doctor's stethoscope with a little black rhinestone.

Here are the copics I used.

Bundle of Baby joy

It was a beautiful first weekend of summer but I did steal a bit of time yesterday to play along with Karen's SSSC224 and make a baby card using the oh so adorable Snookums.

I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  I love the little banner trio on the sketch and added a pale blue star button on the edge.

Here are the copics I used.

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 12

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had Sketch #12.

I will admit I "tweaked" the sketch to work for my card but if you look closely you can see the original sketch :)

I stamped Bianca Loves Her Big Cake onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with copics.  I fussy cut her out and popped her up with some dimensionals.  She has a little bit of sparkle from my Wink of Stella pen and I added some white dots to her dress....honestly, because I coloured over them originally, LOL.

Look at the yummy looking glossy icing.

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is an inspiration photo.

We hope you'll join us - remember it's your inspiration from the photo - the balloons, the shapes, the colours, the place, the theme...anything that inspires you from the picture.  It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Bellariffic Friday - One layer wonder

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the challenge was "One Layer Wonder" which turned out to be easier than I thought...no trying to figure out pattern paper or ribbon to match, etc., no sketch to follow...just stamp and go :)

I stamped Jayden Loves To Journal from Emily's last release and was still un-inked (eek) onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  The image paper is cut slightly smaller than the card base and mounted with some dimensionals.  I added a few coats of clear glaze pen to the cupcake frosting and doodled around the edge with a thin black marker and that was it!

On the inside I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image - love that and love the sentiments Emily comes up with - they're just perfect for her images!

Here are the copics I used.

Happy Retirement

I was asked to make a Retirement card for one of the nurses at work and I have to say this card was so much fun to make!  It turned out pretty much exactly like I envisioned it.

I stamped the nurse, the chair and the stool onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.  I then "upholstered" the furniture with some pattern paper adding a few tiny twinkles on the stool.  I popped everything up with dimensionals.  The background piece of cream is embossed and it kind of reminds me of wallpaper.  I added the sentiment on a Fishtail Flag.

The layout is from a card Michele made waaaaay back on June 18, 2010.  The inside is blank as there needs to be lots of room for everyone to write their good wishes.

Here are the copics I used.

Wishing our nurse a very happy and restful retirement - hope she has a big comfy chair like the one on her card to relax in!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 11

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had Sketch #11.

I used all of the elements from the sketch except that large arrow on the right - wasn't too sure what to do with that :)

I stamped Paige and Peggy Pour Some Tea onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured the image with copics.  I sponged some clouds in the sky and of course, I used my Wink of Stella pen on their dress trim!  The rest of it came together pretty easily with the sentiment stamped on some flag banners and a trio of buttons at the top.

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is "One layer wonder" so that should be pretty easy - no fuss, just one layer - LOL!  It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.
