Birthday thanks

I needed several thank you cards recently, so they needed to be relatively quick to make :)

I haven't done water colouring in years and since it's been popping up recently out in stamping blog-land, I decided to get out my Peerless Watercolours and have a go.

I used SU watercolour paper and painted on three colours letting them "bleed" into each other.  It really looked quite a mess when it was wet but once it was dry it looked lovely.  Here's a close up of the colours.

I used the Fancy Butterflies die-namic, cutting out one from the watercolour paper and glued another butterfly cut from vellum cardstock behind.  The "thanks" die was cut out twice and glued on top of each other to make it thicker.  I then covered it with crystal effects.  I like the way the butterfly is slightly bent - kind of looks like it's ready to fly away.

I quite enjoyed getting the watercolours out....you really can't go wrong with them.

Cheerio.....Leslie

Paper:  Watercolour paper (SU), Only Orange (SU), Vellum cardstock (SU), DSP retired (SU)
Other:  Peerless Watercolours, thanks die (SSS), Fancy Butterflies die-namic (MFT), crystal effects

Bellariffic Friday - Inspiration 8

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we are up to Inspiration 8.

I knew I was going to make a Christmas card to add to my 'very poorly stacked Christmas cards for 2014 box' and I decided to use both the colours and the wreath from the photo.

stamped Hannah with Wreath (which is on SALE now at Stampingbella!) onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I kept this card very basic with no embellishments because I thought Hannah should be the star of the card.  I added some chunky glitter to the snowbase but it's hard to see and of course my Wink of Stella pen added bits of glitter here and there.  Her little buttons are tiny rhinestones and I added some stickles to the holly berries.

Here are the copics I  used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is another sketch #15.

Why not stamp along with us?  It's easy - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Cheerio.....Leslie

Stamps:  Hannah with Wreath
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black, copics

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 14 - Pia and Luke get married!

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had a sketch to work with.

I LOVE making special order cards that I can customize in some way, and this was one such card.

I stamped Uptown Couple Brett and Brenda Get Married onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.  The colour theme for Pia and Luke's wedding is fuchsia and teal so I added a pop of that colour on her shoes!  I also did their hair colour as close to the real thing as I could.

The sentiment was stamped on a piece of vellum cardstock and lightly misted with glimmer mist.  I added a couple of paper roses on either side and because it's a wedding card there had to be lots of glitter and rhinestones :)

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is an Inspiration photo - don't let the Christmas photo freak you out - you can choose to make a Christmas card or just take the colours or any element from it. The choice is all yours.  It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Sweet Sunday Penguins - SSSC227

I played along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC227) and since I am so behind on my Christmas cards for this year, I decided to add one more to my stash.

I stamped two of the cute images from Penguin Pals onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.  They were super fast to colour.  I added some glitter to their hats and repeated the musical notes across the top.  I followed the sketch adding a little button with a hemp cord bow.

Here are the copics I used.

Starbucks - MFTWSC184

Those of you that know me, know I love my Starbucks and especially the store I go to every day before work - I love the staff there!  Last Thursday they did an amazing thing for me and some of my co-workers and I knew I had to make them a special thank you card.  I used this weeks MFTWSC184 sketch but rotated it once.

I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  The sentiment is stamped with Kraft ink onto the Fishtail Flags die-namics and wrapped some baker's twine around the top.  I coloured the cups as close to a real Starbucks cup as I could.  I was "forced" to go out today and get a Starbucks just to be sure I had the colours right :)

Here are the copics I used.

I can't wait to give it to them tomorrow morning!

Bellariffic Friday - Happy Birthday Christal!

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the theme was "Celebrate Good Times"....and there's no better celebration than a birthday!  It's Christal's birthday and I love making her card specially tailored to her!  She loves purple and loves ice cream so this image seemed perfect for her.

I stamped "Isabelle loves her ice cream" onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I sponged some clouds in the sky, added some glitter to her dress and of course some crystal :) effects to the ice cream scoops.  No chocolate ice cream though, as Christal doesn't like chocolate - crazy, I know - so it's just strawberry, vanilla and butterscotch.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment which comes with the image and it just makes me smile - don't you wish it was true?  I think on your birthday there are no calories!

Happy Birthday Christal!!  Celebrate big!!

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch 14  and we hope you'll get stamping with us.

Sweet baby

I was asked to make some baby thank you cards and there's nothing sweeter!  I decided to mix things up and came up with these three designs.

I stamped the images onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.  The little lamb is from Stampin' Up and the teddy bear is so old I can't even make out the company - it was one of my first stamps oh so many years ago.  I found some square pink notecards that were already embossed with little circles and a centre bit which fit the little teddy bear perfectly!

I used a variety of embellishments/tools which I've listed below but obviously the main theme was pink :)

I love making little thank you cards and especially for new babies!

Cheerio.....Leslie

Stamps: Lamb (retired SU), teddy bear (unknown), Sheet Music Backgrounds (MFT)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black, copics, Pretty in Pink (SU)

Other:  Perfect Polkadots embossing folder (SU), pink ribbon (SU), Simply Scallops die-namic (MFT), rhinestones, pink atyou spica pen, Wink of Stella pen

Welcome

I'm telling you these doctor stamps are getting some work out from me lately!  These cards weren't for retiring docs, but to welcome some new ones.  I used Karen's SSSC226 for all three cards but just changed up the paper and hair colour :)

I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured them with copics.  I paper pieced their jackets and added some rhinestones to their buttons and stethoscope.

I gave each one a co-ordinating flower with a button and bow in the middle.

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black, copics
Paper:  Bella's Bestest paper, assortment of pattern paper and cardstock

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 13

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we are up to Sketch 13.
I decided to give the Uptown Girls a well deserved rest and inked up Ramona's friend, MatildaI stamped her onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

I sponged some clouds around her and added some polka dots to her rain hat to match the ribbon.  Of course I had to add tiny twinkles for her buttons and my Wink of Stella pen for the stripe on her pants.
Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is a theme "Celebrate Good Times" - so anything that means celebrating to you!  Why not play along with us - it's easy - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

And yet another retirement!

Wow, it seems there's a rush to retire at my workplace!  Here's another card I was asked to make, this time for a female doctor.

It's actually the same layout as this card I made last Wednesday for the male doctor but I was happy to be able to make it all "pretty and girly" :)  I stamped PI Girl Doctor onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.

I gave her a pretty jacket with some bling on the buttons and her stethoscope.

This card wasn't being mailed so I decided to 'bulk' it up and added a trio of felt flowers using three different die-namics.

Here are the copics I used.
