Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 17

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had another sketch which I loved.

It was a fairly easy sketch and I tweaked the banner just slightly.

I stamped Uptown Girl Faith the Fairy onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I used a circle nestie to cut her out and then popped her up along with the banner.  To soften the white edges I sponged some distress ink and of course used my Wink of Stella pen for some "fairy dust"!

On the inside I kept it simple because the sentiment that comes with Faith was perfect on its own.

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is an easy one - PAPER PIECING - which I love to do.  It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Happy Anniversary Diane and Rick!

This is another special order card - for a 26th wedding anniversary.  When I looked up that anniversary it said the colour was lavender so that was my starting point.

I used my new Big Numbers (I know these are going to be well used) die-namic, cut out two of each number and glued them together for a bit more stability.  I covered them with my Wink of Stella pen to give them some glitter and then a generous layer of crystal effects.  I love the end result!

The background is embossed with the fishnet stencil and I added the "26" to a circle and then over a paper doily.  It seemed to be missing something so I added a flower, then another and then another!

The sentiment is stamped on vellum and just wrapped around the card base.  I am really happy how this came together and wish Diane and Rick many more years of happiness!

Sweet Sunday Motorcycle - SSSC233

It was a lazy Sunday morning here so I played along with Karen's SSSC233

This card is for a man so I couldn't go all girly with buttons or bows so for the circle and flower part of the sketch I used the number 50.  The strip across is from Blueprints 1 and I thought it looked a bit like a road for the motorcycle.  I cut the 50 from Big Numbers and popped them up for some dimension.

On the inside I used the retro squares die-namic in some co-ordinating paper and then just stamped off once with the chocolate chip ink to give the motorcycle a lighter look.

Stamps:  Diagonal Stripes background (MFT), Motorcycle (unknown)
Ink:  Chocolate Chip (SU), Grout Gray (MFT)
Paper:  Bella's Bestest paper, Chocolate Chip (SU), BoBunny "Welcome Home"

BIG SALE at Stampingbella ... and Bellariffic Friday - Inspiration 9

It's Bellariffic Friday but before I get to the challenge for this week Emily is having a big sale!  25% off everything!!  Click here to check out the details.  Now is the perfect time to get all those images on your wish list....and at 25% off!!  Okay, back to our inspiration photo for this week.

You might have spied my card "in progress" on last week's Bellariffic Friday post photo of the messy table :)

I used several of the colours from the inspiration photo for my card.  Again, I was just playing at the time and didn't keep track of the exact colours of my sprays.  I started by spraying a few different colours of Dylusions sprays over the Sun Ray stencil and of course my new fav, crème brulee cream as the final spray for the perfect sunshine sparkle.

Then I stamped Seniorita Harriet onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I fussy cut her out and popped her up so she looks like she's just floating in the water.  I added some glossy accents to her glasses...wait, are those glasses or goggles? :)

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch 17.

Sweet Sunday Butterflies - SSSC232

I really liked the card Tracy made (click here to see it) for Karen's SSSC232 so I decided to CASE it slightly, starting with rotating the sketch.

I used my Insert it Insta-Frame die for the layered piece and popped up the butterfly on top.  I love these butterflies and love the look of a vellum one behind the intricate cut one.  Of course I had to give it a spray of Crème Brulee Cream mist for some sparkle and folded the wings gently for some dimension.

I finished it off with the sentiment and a little flag banner on the left.  I left off the button from the sketch as these will be mailed and Canada Post doesn't like buttons!  These came together so quickly that I made three - now I'm all set for the rest of this month's birthday cards!

Paper:  Baja Breeze (SU), Fancypants "Parkbench", vellum

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 16

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had another sketch to work with.

I went TOTALLY out of my comfort zone on this one!

I have recently returned from a wonderful visit with my friends Danabella and Karen Motzabella!  Dana pulled out all her fun stamping stuff including new sprays and textured pastes which I have been intrigued with.  We spent most of one day getting messy and dirty - just look at Dana's thumbs...

...and if her hands weren't bad enough just look at the table!

I had so much fun just playing and getting messy that I didn't keep a list of exactly what I used to make my card.  I can't remember the exact colours, companies, etc., but it included a stencil, textured paste, distress inks and Lindy's Stampgang sprays.  I stamped the sentiment  from Uptown Girl Maybelline Loves Mail onto Bella's Bestest paper  and embossed it with black embossing powder.  I then sponged some distress ink around the oval and added a rhinestone to each side.

The background was made with the stencil and some textured paste.  After it was dry I sponged it with some distress inks and then put the stencil back on and gave it a final spray with Crème Brulee Cream spray which gives it a pretty sparkle (hard to see in the photo).  I love the softness of the sponged distress inks and how they just seem to melt into each other.  After trying these textured pastes and spray, I will admit, I'm liking them more than I thought....now I just have to get over the "mess" I will make with them :)

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is a gorgeous inspiration photo!

Bellariffic Friday - Uptown Girls

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the theme was "Uptown Girls".  There are SO many fab Uptown images that it was really hard to choose!  I decided to use Flora  - she's so cute with her bicycle - just perfect for summer!

I stamped Flora  onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  I sponged some clouds in the background.

I also added a bit of sparkle with my Wink of Stella pen and tried a new bow design.

On the inside I kept it pretty clean and just stamped the sentiment (which comes with the image).

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is another sketch.

Happy 50th Anniversary

A 50th wedding anniversary is something to be very proud of and I was so happy to be asked to make this card for my BFF's parents!

There was very little stamping on  this - just the sentiment.  Gold is the theme for a 50th anniversary so I used it in the paper, the cord and the rhinestones.  I traced the numbers onto the gold paper and cut them out veeeeery carefully :)

The cardstock behind was embossed for some texture and I added the sentiment on a vellum banner with a trio of rhinestones.  I made three flowers from some MFT die-namics and added gold rhinestones to the middle of each.  The gold cord is just wrapped around three times.

I do hope they have a lovely celebration and wish them many more years of happiness!

Cheerio.....Leslie

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 15

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we're up to sketch #15.

I haven't inked up a Diane Duda image lately and I felt this one worked nicely with the sketch.

I stamped "I carry your heart with me" onto Bella's Bestest paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured her with copics.  Her hair extends just a bit out of the circle and I added a touch of glitter to her heart with the pink atyou spica pen.

Here are the copics I used.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is "Uptown Girls".  So ink up any Uptown image and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.  I love those Uptown girls - the tough part will be choosing one!
