Merry Christmas

Wishing you a very peaceful and happy Christmas.

I sponged some distress inks (Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Dusty Concord)  onto some mixed media paper.  Then I stamped the image, Christmas Blessings (Taylored Expressions) with Memento Tuxedo black ink and restamped it again with Versamark Dazzle Champagne ink adding clear embossing powder on top.  It's shiny and sparkly in real life but you can't see it very well here.  The paper is SU Elegant Eggplant.

Thanks for stopping by my little blog this past year.

Starbucks Christmas wishes

It's that time of year - time for the card I give to my favourite Starbucks store and staff!  Each year I incorporate their holiday cup into my card with the design on it.  This year they made it super easy by just having that oh so lovely red cup!

I stamped "Berry" snowman (Purple Onion Designs) with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I popped him up for some dimension.  The paper is BoBunny "Snowfall Collection" with a red card base.  I added some snowy slopes with glitter on top.

I'm sure that's a Venti, non-fat, no water, extra hot chai latte, or perhaps a Peppermint Mocha.  Whatever it is, he's enjoying it!

Merry Christmas baby!

I had another special Christmas card order for a pregnant lady and Brynn has a Baby Shower was the perfect image.

I stamped Brynn with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her with copics making it all red and green.  The paper is Echo Park "Holly Jolly Christmas" with a Real Red card base.  I stamped the sentiment on a Fishtail Flag and added a couple of bells wrapped with baker's twine.

I love the look of the little bells - so festive with a sweet little jingle when you shake the card.

Have a good week.

Bellariffic Friday - Inspiration photo & big news

Sorry, I'm late with my Bellariffic Friday card this week.  We had a beautiful photo to inspire us. I took the Christmas theme and the colours for my card.

stamped Tiny Townie Ellie the Elf with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her with copics.  Then I used the new matching Tiny Townie Ellie the Elf Cut It Outs to die cut her perfectly - LOVE these new Cut It Outs!!  No more fussy cutting :)

The paper is SU Pink Passion with a Glorious Green card base.  The pattern paper is Doodlebug "Winter Wonderland".  I embossed the pink with the Polka Dots embossing folder.  I made a little flag with the Pierced Fishtail Flags die and added a pink punched snowflake with a sparkly dot in the middle.  I added some glossy accents to the two Christmas balls and of course glitter here and there with my Wink of Stella pen.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.

The big news is we have teamed up with the super talented Julee Tilman of Mojo Mondays/Verve for our sketches....perfectly called "MojoBella sketch" - LOL.  So here's the challenge for next week - our first MojoBella sketch and I'm super excited, as you know I love a sketch!

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Mackenzie turns ONE!

I made this for sweet Mackenzie who turned 1 last month and in my haste to give her the card I forgot to take a proper photo, so I have to use this one taken with my IPhone.  Please excuse the messy background :)

I stamped the image, Baby Bow, with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I matched her hair colour pretty well, if I may say so myself - LOL.  The fun pattern paper is MME Six by Six Hootenanny with a Pretty in Pink card base and some Daffodil Delight.  I added a couple of Fishtail Flags in the corner with a blue button tied with some pink Bakers Twine.  Her tutu, of course, is covered with glitter!

Hanukkah

It's the first day of Hanukkah and I made this card for a few of my friends.  I CASED this card that Melody made a couple of years ago.

I used the Hanukkah Light and Love die-namics (MFT) to cut out the Menorah from some glittery gold paper and glued it on a white Pierced Circle STAX and then added another larger circle cut from some shiny gold paper.  It is super shiny and sparkly!

On the navy card base I stamped the background using Snowfall BG (MFT).  I stamped the sentiment from Happy Hanukkah (MFT) onto some Bella’sBestest paper and then used the Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX die-namics to cut it out.  In keeping with the gold theme I wrapped some gold cord around the edge and added a gold brad.

Stocking Miles

I had a card order for 5 Christmas cards and was told they could all be the same, so I made an assembly line and cranked out 5 of these little cuties.

I stamped the image - called Stocking Miles (Kraftin' Kimmie) - with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  After he was coloured I fussy cut him out and added glitter to the stocking rim.

I mounted that onto a circle embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and layered that onto a Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX die.  The pattern paper is from my scrap pile with a Real Red card base and the Fishtail Flag is Pear Pizzazz.  Across the top I added a piece of red ribbon and tied on two little bells with some red bakers twine.  These are being hand delivered so I could be "bulky" with my embellishments and I love that the bells have a sweet jingle to them!

Bellariffic Friday - Anything Goes challenge

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the challenge was "Anything Goes".  It's also the first Friday of the month so that means another stamp on sale for all of December at 20% off!  This month we're featuring Uptown Girls Clarissa and Camille Share a Cafe.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I cut out the image using a stitched rectangle die and added some Wink of Stella to the circles on the mug.  The paper is Doodlebug Santa's Workshop with some SU Pacific Point and Pink Passion.  On the inside I used the sentiment that comes with the image.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is an Inspiration Challenge.  Here's the photo, so take whatever inspires you and make a card with us!

Ice Cream Solves Everything

I had a chance to get ahead with making some cards I needed this past week.  This is such a sweet and super-fast image to colour up and you can make any flavour of ice cream.

I stamped the image Chicks with a Sprinkle on Top with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I fussy cut the image out and then mounted it on a piece of white cut with the Stitched Retangle STAX die.  The paper is Echo Park Summer Bliss with some SU Bermuda Bay and Peach Parfait.  I added a generous amount of Glossy Accents to the ice cream and boy do they ever shine!

On the inside I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image.  I love that you can use this image for birthday cards too or just a general friendship card.

Have a good week.

Happy Birthday to my BFF

It was my BFF's birthday this month but I couldn't post her card here on my blog until I'd given it to her - LOL!  The resemblance to Uptown Girl Brittany the Birthday Girl is uncanny - they could be twins!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  The paper is BoBunny "Surprise" with a dark purple base.  I added the sentiment that comes with Brittany on a piece of vellum paper that I wrapped around the card.  My BFF doesn't like glitter AT ALL, so I only used a teeny tiny bit of Wink of Stella pen on the ruffle as that won't come off on her fingers :)

She does like some bling though so I added a trio of rhinestones to the sentiment.  I love my BFF and I loved making this card for her!

Bellariffic Friday - Holiday Wishes

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the challenge was Holiday Wishes.  I made another easy to duplicate Christmas card and it's also Canada Post-friendly!

I stamped the image Caroling Chicks with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  This is another easy to colour image, takes no time at all.  I kept the layout simple, just a green card base with a red layer and matching red ribbon.  There is glitter on the snowbanks and I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image on the front for a change.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Anything Goes.  So stamp whatever you want!  Just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Petunia pig

I am continuing to participate in Jennifer McGuire's November challenge of "Share Handmade Kindness".  Click on that link if you'd like to know more.  This sweet image called Especially for you, Petunia has the most  perfect sentiment that comes with it.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I used a regular circler nestie and then a Pierced circle STAX die to cut it out.  The clouds were made with a stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink sponged on.  The paper was too perfect - barn board!  It's from MME Miss Caroline Howdy Doody.  I put part of the sentiment on the front on a Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX die and the rest on the inside.  I added a button tied with some Bakers twine to finish off the Fishtail Flag.

I hope you're playing along with the November Share Handmade Kindness challenge.  It feels so good to thank those that help us in life and what better way than with a handmade card!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 23

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we are up to Sketch 23.

The crunch is on now to get the rest of my Christmas cards made and this layout was easy and Canada post friendly!

If you're looking for a quick image to colour up - this is a great one!  I stamped Warm and Fuzzy Penguins with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I used an oval die to cut the image out.  Some glitter was added to the snowflakes and I added some dots of white on the scarf with my white gel pen.  The paper is Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas with a Kraft card base.  Super fast card to make multiples of!

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Holiday Wishes.  So any holiday card you wish  - Christmas, Hanukkah, anything!

We hope you'll get stamping with us. It's easy to play along - just ink up any current (check the website) Stamping Bella image, and email your card to Emily by next Thursday for a chance to win some Bella Bucks.

Scout's Honour - SSSC292

I loved the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC292) from a few weeks ago and made another card using the cute Scout's Honour image from Stampingbella.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  All the papers are from the Doodlebug Design Sun Kissed with a red card base.  I fussy cut him out and popped him up for dimension over the circle diecut.

I added some glossy accents to his glasses.

Hope you're having a good week.

Sweet thank you

I needed some thank you cards and chose the sweet PI Heart Stripes.  I made 4 of these really quickly once I had the layout.  On the "hand-delivered ones", I added rhinestones that I coloured to match with a copic marker in each of the scallops.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  The patterned paper is from my scrap pile and I paired it with Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip.  I added some matching ribbon and a scallop border.

Jennifer McGuire is doing a wonderful thing on her blog - a  November challenge called "Share Handmade Kindness".  So, this is a start for me to thank the people around me - friends, family, co-workers.  I encourage you to check out Jennifer's blog - she is one amazing woman!

Brittany's birthday

I hope you all had a nice weekend - they seem to go so fast.  In between all the errands and the never-ending raking of leaves I squeezed in a little stamping time.  Uptown Girl Brittany the Birthday Girl will be used a few times this month as I have two special cards to make.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics. The paper is Coastal Cabana and I added two lengths of matching ribbon down the side.  Of course there is glitter on her gown and sprinkled around her as well.  What's a birthday, without sparkles of some sort?!  I kept this "embellishment-free" as I have to mail it.

Bellariffic Friday - Make a Tag

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week the challenge was Make a Tag.  I did make a tag but then put it on a card - that counts, right ? :)

I stamped Buddy from Buddy and Jolly with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured him with copics.  I fussy cut him out and mounted him on the tag made with two Fishtail Flag dies.  I added some co-ordinated ribbon at the top and tied it with some twine.  The paper is Echo Park Holly Jolly Christmas with a Chocolate Chip card base.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Sketch 23.

Valerie and her Snowman are back

I am a huge fan of Jennifer McGuire's work and after seeing this video she posted about "Stamping with water" I had to give it a try.  I still had the image of Valerie out and thought a snowy sky would be perfect behind her.

First I made the background using a few different distress inks and then the Snowfall BG spritzed with water to "stamp" the snowfall background.  I love how it turned out - it looks like big fluffy snowflakes falling.  I encourage you to check out the link to her video above and give it a try.

I stamped Valerie with Snowman with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured it with copics.  I then fussy cut around it and added some snow banks made with Snow Drifts die-namics on top with the mandatory :) glitter on them.
The cardbase is Real Red and I didn't even have to use water colour paper - I just used Bella's Bestest paper - and it worked fine.

Don't forget Valerie is on sale at 20% off all month!

Bellariffic Friday - Sketch 22

It's Bellariffic Friday and this week we had Sketch 22 which I rotated once to work to fit my image.

It's the first Friday of the month too, so that means Emily has chosen an image that will be on sale at 20% off ALL month!  This month the featured stamp is Valerie with Snowman.

I stamped Valerie with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Bella’sBestest paper and coloured her and her snowman with copics.  The cardbase is Baja Breeze and the pattern paper is MME Be Merry.  I added a button with a twine bow behind and of course glitter on the snow and the snowman.

Be sure to check out the rest of the BellaBabes and the Sistah's cards for this week on Blogabella.  Next week's Bellariffic Friday challenge is Make a Tag.
